An eight-room house with a stable
1905
Classified ads in September 1905 offered the house at 1100 Harvard for lease: eight rooms, completely furnished, with a stable and gas plant, one block from the streetcar line, at $35 a month. In 1910 a resident advertised a “very desirable 3-gallon Jersey cow” from the same address. The corner’s first documented life was thoroughly domestic.
