Camp Logan soldiers at the watch service
1917
By late 1917 the first hall was in steady use, and the lodge’s New Year’s Eve watch service extended its invitation to Masons among the soldiers at Camp Logan, the Army training camp on Houston’s west side. Rev. E. P. West spoke.
That November the Grand Lodge granted Reagan Lodge a special dispensation to confer the Fellowcraft and Master Mason degrees “out of time” on C. J. Frank, a soldier of the 108th Illinois Engineers preparing to ship out for Europe. The war reached the corner before the temple ever did.
